The Pat Morvan Jazz Group

The Pat Morvan Jazz Group (PMJG) is a group of seasoned professionals that has played extensively in and around the Southern California area. They bring to their performances a sense of joy, fun and humor that the audiences find endearing. The group began out of friendship where everyone in the group enjoys being with each other and playing with each other. It is this joy and camaraderie that is brought to the stage. One cannot help but have fun when the PMJG performs.

 

The musical style of the band ranges from swing, rock, and funk. The emphasis in a PMJG performance is on the groove that sets the toes to tapping. The band plays many jazz standard from the ‘Great American Songbook’ as well as pop tunes ranging from the Beatles to Adele. The band is primarily an instrumental group but often singers are invited to sit in and add vocals to a tune or two. One cannot help but find something in a PMJG to make them smile.
